Abstract
This is a tale of 2 colleagues whose lives intertwined, mostly in the 1960s, during the Menninger glory years of psychoanalytic psychology. I was a participant-observer of Martin Mayman's writing and editing styles, seminal object relations ideas, application of these ideas to psychological tests, process of drawing inferences, Early Memories Test (Mayman, 1968) studies, and his novel way of organizing and recording data.
