Abstract
This article, part of a symposium titled The Rorschach Contributions of Ernest Schachtel, focuses on teaching students an experience-near method of Rorschach interpretation. This is accomplished by using Structural Summary data, content interpretation, extra-text responses, and by an investigation of the meaning and interpretation of the Rorschach task for the patient. The objective is to illuminate the ways in which the patient's experience ebbs and flows, both within and across cards. Sequence analysis is also used, looking for relations between adjacent responses, both within and across cards.
