Teaching a Course in Computer-Assisted Statistical Analysis

Pages 225-226 | Published online: 20 Nov 2009

Abstract

Statistics is an important component of the major in psychology (Kulik, Brown, Vestewig, B Wright, 1973). I have found that students have difficulty with the transfer of skills acquired in the introductory statistics course. I designed a course around the Statistical Packages for Social Sciences to review the introductory material, to enhance the coverage, and to provide to students a skill useful in other settings. Students' comments have suggested that the course objectives are being met.
