Integrative and Goal-Relevant Essay Questions for History and Systems Courses

Pages 113-115 | Published online: 20 Nov 2009

Abstract

This article presents a number of integrative and goal-relevant essay questions designed for history and systems of psychology courses. A goal and item analysis of eight popular history of psychology texts showed that the majority of essay item are too mow in scope to measure the most commonly stated course goals. In order to rectify this apparent shortcoming, some broad, integrative, and goal-relevant essay questions are presented. The procedures described can be applied in courses other than history and systems.
