Pages 30-32 | Published online: 20 Nov 2009

Abstract

This article describes a method for promoting student interest and involvement in a marriage and family course. The method supplements lectures with problem-solving sessions for small groups. The instructor uses session outcomes to encourage critical evaluation by the entire class. Students' positive reactions to the course emphasize the complementarity of a traditional scholarly approach and interactive personal involvement.
