Humanistic Psychology and Qualitative Research: Affinity, Clarifications, and Invitations

Abstract

This paper invites humanistically oriented psychologists to undertake qualitative research, whether individually, with students, or colleagues. Humanistic attitudes and values are especially suited to respecting and exploring life worlds-the content of most qualitative research. The paper clarifies some basic issues and encourages some specific means of getting started and then for publishing.
