Peter Lavelle
Peter Lavelle is an assistant professor in the Department of History at Temple University, where he teaches Chinese and environmental history. He received his PhD in Chinese history from Cornell University, and he previously held the position of postdoctoral research fellow in the Institute of Modern History at Academia Sinica. He is currently working on a book about agriculture, technology, the environment, and Qing frontiers in the nineteenth century.
