Abstract
Four major theorists specializing in anorexia nervosa were reviewed, and a collective set of family characteristics was developed. Three families, their dynamics, and treatment are then described and compared to the "Theoretical Standard." The greatest area of commonality between the three families was found to be in the area of problematic communication.
