Abstract

The "Quality Circle Approach" is presented as a means of involving public school psychologists in clarifying and resolving work-related problems. The Approach involves a group of school psychologists-the Quality Circle-in a range of data gathering, intervention, and evaluation activities during a school year. These activities are engaged in by the Quality Circle members following their participation in a training progam. The purpose, nature, and scope of the Quality Circle Approach and the training program are described. In addition, results are reported of the application of the Approach with school psychologists of a large urban public school district in the Northeastern United States. Results of this case investigation suggest that the Approach can be implemented successfully and that important work-related problems can be clarified, and resolved. Advantages and limitations of the Approach are also discussed.
