SUMMARY

This article advocates for better articulating the value and uniqueness of group work, developing hard evidence to demonstrate that the paucity of group work education and training is a serious problem, and developing scholars and teachers of group work who will write and speak about the distinctiveness of group work as a positive, optimistic, empowering and affirming way of working with people.
