ABSTRACT

This reports an interview study analyzing what criteria clinicians actually use in mailing the diagnosis of Personality Disorder in their elderly patients, the congruence with Axis II diagnoses in the patients' charts, and the utility of countertransference in the diagnostic process. Specific countertransference themes informing the diagnosis are addressed.
