Forced Arm Exercise and DRO in the Treatment of Bruxism in Cerebral Palsied Children

Abstract

Bruxism in two retarded cerebral palsied boys was treated using a combination of forced arm exercise and differential reinforcement for other behavior. The procedures resulted in the virtual elimination of the behavior. Treatment effects were maintained at the three-month follow-up. The benefits of using the procedure were discussed.
