Helping Children Manage Stress:

Some Preliminary Observations

Pages 69-73 | Published online: 25 Oct 2008

Abstract

Using a relaxation technique designed specifically for children 10 subjects were taught to relax. Skin temperature was monitored to determine the success of the method. The effects of teaching children to relax were compared with the reactions of 10 subjects in a control group. Results suggest that this method significantly reduces a child's level of stress and increases positive classroom performance.
