Pages 79-93 | Published online: 26 Oct 2008

Abstract

This article examines a variety of issues to be considered in planning Employee Assistance Program (EAP) evaluations. It focuses on issues of definition, the importance of primary prevention, intervention as a strategy, types of evaluative issues to consider, and basic assumptions in EAP evaluation research. These issues lead to the presentation of a detailed and prescriptive model that EAP evaluators should consider prior to evaluating EAPs.
