Stress and Job Satisfaction:

Implications for Occupational Social Work

Pages 27-39 | Published online: 26 Oct 2008

Abstract

Despite an increase in social work practice in occupational settings, use of a systematic theory specific to this field is lacking. This study looked at the association of stress and job satisfaction, and the findings indicate the need to explore the use of stress theory in occupational social work practice. Additionally, the practice implications are that social work interventions need to effectively reduce stress to improve client job satisfaction.
