Abstract
The major objective of this presentation is to provide an overview of the following ten types of evaluative studies for an Employee Assistance Program: (1) service needs; (2) compliance/ legality; (3) program adequacy; (4) external resources; (5) program effort; (6) program effectiveness; (7) program benefit equity; (8) client satisfaction; (9) costbenefit; and (10) program constraint analysis. Each selected evaluation area includes major conceptual questions which need to be considered for administrative, participatory, or consumer functions of EAP evaluation. Additionally, the overview descriptions specify suggested sample group(s) that are thought to be most appropriate for accurate assessments, including target group, treatment group, comparison group, proxy group, criterion group, and subgroup.
