Summary
Singapore'S economy has grown by leaps and bounds over the last 3 years. As the country develops from a colonized state of the past to a thriving economy of the present, needs of the labor force also change. Market forces, societal progress and stress at the work place all make Industrial Social Work (ISW) a necessity rather than a luxury. This paper presents the value of ISW in resolving work-related problems and.in developing and enhancing the potentials of the modern labor force. Three case studies of different work settings are presented, followed by an exploration of the potential roles of the social work in the industrial setting.
