Summary
The purpose of this chapter is to provide an overview of work/family programs and to indicate the similarities and differences between them and EAPs. Work/family initiatives can assist employees in garnering resources to manage the multiple and sometimes conflicting demands of work and family life. In addition to describing the history of work/family program evolution, information is also shared about the potential costs and benefits of an integrated model of service delivery between EAP and work/family programs.
