An EAP Approach to Managing Organizational Downsizing

Summary

This chapter addresses multifaceted ways in which EAP professionals can be helpful related to organizational layoff realities. Suggestions are made pursuant to services appropriate for the downsized employees, as well as those remaining within the organization; “survivors” as it were. An appeal is also made for organizational communication processes which are inclusive and conducive to community building within the workplace.
