Abstract

Silver scat, Selenotoca rnultifosciata were shown to consume seven species of aquatic weeds in the laboratory. The preferred species are the filamentous algae, Spimgyra sp. and the "hair plant," followed by other aquatic macrophytes. The potential of using Silver Scats to control fouling in grow-out ponds and aquaculture cages is discussed.
