Abstract

The literature describes various models for campus counseling centers. Models of student development suggest that need for counseling may emerge at particular stages in collegians' careers. In this investigation university first-year, sophomore, junior, and senior women reported their expectations of helpfulness and expected satisfaction from counseling centers offering vocational guidance, or psychotherapy, or traditional models of service. Issues involving the interface of counseling center models and students' needs are discussed.
