Pages 85-100 | Published online: 11 Oct 2008

Summary

This chapter describes brief therapy with Lynn, a college junior enrolled in an athletic training degree program, who presented with anxiety related to her supervisor's criticism of her work. Therapy focused on how she could deal more appropriately with her supervisor in the present, while also looking at how her reactions to supervisory criticism touched off a variety of feelings related to unfinished business with her family of origin, particularly her relationships with her mother and father.
