ABSTRACT
A nutritional supplemental product (abs+) was evaluated for its effect on weight loss. Subjects meeting study criteria consumed either placebo capsules containing no active ingredients or six abs+ capsules for a total daily intake of 3400 mg CLA and 270 mg EGCG for a period of 12 weeks. Body weight, waist circumference and percent body fat were measured at the end of 0, 4, 8 and 12 weeks. Changes between weeks 12 and week 0 were used to compare the effects of abs+. Ingesting abs+ resulted in a significant body weight loss, both as group total weight and mean body-weight change, compared to the placebo treatment. The study results show an important role for the nutritional supplement abs+ in the management of body weight.
