Abstract

Universities have been forced to pay more attention to the utilization of marketing techniques in their recruitment process due to the sharp decrease in the number of high school graduates. Astute college recruiters have been trying to recruit and retain the best and the brightest of the graduating class in the hope that it will improve the reputation of the institution and, in the long run, total enrollment. This study attempts to develop a profile of the excellent student who is likely to attend a given institution. Such a profile could be used to aid universities in their recruitment of the excellent high school student.
