Female Response to Sexually Explicit Films

&
Pages 73-88 | Published online: 22 Oct 2008

Abstract

Female undergraduates viewed either a female-oriented Femme Productions video or a traditional male-oriented video. Participants who viewed the Femme video reported significantly more subjective sexual arousal than those who viewed the male-oriented film. Arousal was also related to previous experience with sexually explicit materials, masturbatory experience, and sex guilt. Results are discussed in terms of sexual scripting and sexual involvement theory.
