Abstract
The composition and needs of our culturally diverse older population will encourage educators and social work professionals to address the conflicting demands for access and delivery of culturally sensitive services. Therefore, ethnocultural content in gerontology needs to be incorporated into the social work curriculum. Ethnogerontological social work curricula will promote student/practitioner awareness of the dynamics that result from aging and cultural diversity, and will provide training in the development of specific skills for the adaptation of treatment plans and services that meet the culturally unique needs of an elderly population.
