Abstract
This study describes the mechanics of establishing a management team system and management-by-objectives (MBO) in an organization. One hundred fifty (150) managers and 1,500 hourly employees in an international airline were involved in a behaviorally-based program to improve productivity. The rationale and techniques for establishing behavioral accountability practices with senior level managers are delineated. Abstracted descriptions of several performance improvement projects stimulated by the management team system are presented. A need for more structured models by behavior management users is discussed.
