Abstract
This brief overview of the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) concentrates on the manifestations and treatment of Kaposi's sarcoma (KS)- the most common tumor associated with AIDS including the various forms of KS scen in various populations, its epidemiology, and its treatment. Brief descriptions of the other clinical manifestations of AlDS give the reader a general picture of the scope of the disease. The problems inherent in caring for patients afflicted with the disease and the steps required to develop effective treatment and prevention programs.
