Abstract
Skilled nursing care facilities (SNF) have traditionally been medically-driven, and probably will continue to be so. However, with the increasing concerns for the Quality of Life as well as Quality of Care for residents of Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities, psychosocial and social work methodologies take on increased importance. The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP) can be very helpful in this changing and emerging process by recognizing and implementing a clearly social work perspective.
