Judicial Evaluation of Recommendations for Improving Monitoring of Guardians

&
Pages 51-67 | Published online: 18 Oct 2008

Abstract

Two recent national projects generated recommendations for improving judicial review of the performance of guardians in providing care for their wards. This study surveyed probate court judges in one state about their evaluation of the 15 recommendations generated in one of the projects. Judges rated the recommendations overall as high medium in importance and in feasibility and low medium in cost. These ratings support implementation by courts of recommended ways of improving the protection provided for elderly and other wards.
