Sex in the First Two Years of Marriage

Abstract

This article points to the crucial role that developing a comfortable, functional couple sexual style has in the first two years of marriage. It highlights the destructive role played by the three major types of sexual conflicts-affairs, a sexual dysfunction (especially inhibited desire), and fertility issues. Sexual conflicts are a major cause of marital discord and dissolution. Early intervention increases the likelihood of success since couples are motivated to deal with an acute problem before it gets trapped in the guilt-blame cycle of a chronic sexual problem.
