Abstract
Children' s perceptions of their parents' divorce and the quality of their sibling relationship were assessed with two questionnaires and an interview. The negative aspects of children' s divorce experiences were interrelated. Also, children placed most blame for the divorce on the father, who was the noncustodial parent in most of the families. Qualitative analyses focused on children' s understanding of the divorce, their perceptions of their parents, and on the quality of sibling relations. Problems encountered during the course of the study and implications for practitioners are discussed.
