Abstract
Jimsonweed (Datura stramonium) is an annual herb that grows wild through out the United States and which can cause severe anticholinergic poisoning. A report of a case of jimsonweed poisoning in a 16-year-old male is presented. The prevalence of such exposures and the potentially toxic components of the plant are described. The clinical presentation and treatment of this patient are de scribed. Treatment options are discussed; they are primarily symptomatic. Toxicity typically lasts about 24 hours.
