Front-End Systems for Medical Databases

Abstract

Products and services designed to simplify the online searching process are proliferating. Features they can provide include aids for database selection, search strategy pre-formulation and storage, single keystroke logon and logogg, memory buffer, downloading, and accounting. This paper compares microcomputer and mainframe-based front-end software which can be used for accessing medical databases.
