Sources of Information on Subspeciality Training Fellowships

Pages 51-61 | Published online: 26 Oct 2008

Abstract

This article provides information on locating clinical training fellowship programs. Fellowship training is defined as further training or education following some form of residency program. Physicians seek subspecialty training in order to practice in a narrow or complex field, to compete with other physicians for patients, or to improve their earning capacity. Because there is no single source listing both medical and surgical subspecialty training programs, the author examined subspecialty journals and directories. The result is a selected list of resources of information on fellowship training programs. Residents are advised to consult with their peers in addition to using this list.
