Abstract

Manual SDI services in support of the interdisciplinary research centers and institutes of Lehigh University are described. Case studies of selected bibliographies are given. Benefits of these services are reviewed, including participation of the librarian as a member of the research task force, and byproducts which stimulate further use of both the collection and reference services. Manual SDI services may be viable either in conjunction with or as a precursor to the online service.
