Staff Adequacy in Corporate Sci-Tech Libraries

Abstract

This article deals with how special libraries cope with inadequate staff policies or short-staffing. A poll of fort scientific/technical libaries in Connecticut indicates that their staffs are not adequate to handle the work load. This article examines the data and implications gathered in the Connecticut survey and attempts to explain short-staffing. Furthermore, guidelines for adequacy in library staffing are presented, as well as methods for coping with short staffing.
