Abstract
Field Museum of Natural History and its Library were founded in 1894. In support of Museum research the Library specializes in the fields of anthropology, archaeology, botany, geology, palaeontology and zoology, all with a global scope. A rich serials collection and numerous special colelctions make the Library a distinctive resource in the natural sciences. The Library serves both the scientific community and the wider public as a non-circulating reference collection. Through Interlibrary Loan the Library's collections are also available to researchers at virtually all other libraries.
