Abstract
The Matheson-Cooper Report, published in 1982 and the subject of extensive discussion in the medical library community, contains information and a set of directions for action that are applicable in many ways to academic science libraries. This article begins with a concise statement of the concepts in the report and discusses its applicability to academic science libraries.
