Preservation of Library Materials in a Tropical Climate

The Puerto Rican Experience

Abstract

Tropical climate is discussed with regard to the preservation of library materials. The efforts to preserve a health sciences research collection in Puerto Rico are discussed as an example of ongoing efforts for the preservation of library materials in the tropics. A brief historical background of past problems for the preservation of library materials in Puerto Rico is also presented.
