Abstract

Increases in the demands placed upon the resources and services of the academic health sciences library and diminished financial support both from institutions and government have forced academic libraries to seek unique sources of funding. At the same time small medical and technical libraries have experienced similar demands. The Louis Calder Memorial Library of the University of Miami School of Medicine has actively "marketed" its resources through its CLASSIC (Calder Library Access to Service System/Information Consortium) Network. The mutual benefits of these resources to Key Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and Cordis Corporation as network members is discussed.
