A Career in Scientific and Technical Information Service

Abstract

At Chemical Abstracts Service, research is one of the areas available as a career. The background needed for research scientist positions may consist of chemistry or a related science, information science, computer science, or human factors, or various combinations of these. Present research involves expert systems, end-user interaction, natural language processing, chemical information manipulation, and other areas, for both internal and external purposes. Research offers a career that can be satisfying in the long run, and offers involvement in the future of the organization and of information science.
