Pages 51-60 | Published online: 18 Oct 2008

Abstract

On March 23, 1989 a research team from the University of Utah announced at a press conference that they had achieved cold fusion in the laboratory. The events that ensued offer an opportunity to re-examine the information seeking and communicating process of scientists, with particular reference to peer review and the role of the scientific journal.
