Summary

In recent years, an increasing amount of chemical information has been made available electronically. Teaching students effective use of this information has been handled in many ways. The enhancement of the physical chemistry laboratory curriculum at Duke provided an ideal time to integrate the instruction into the program. Our ultimate goal is to create an educational laboratory environment that at once teaches the important foundations of physical chemistry needed for a quality laboratory curriculum and reproduces, as closely as possible the modern scientific laboratory setting where laboratory exploration is entwined with oral and written communication and library and information resource skills.
