ABSTRACT
The development of the World Wide Web has brought with it the ability to make public databases which were previously confined to a single desktop workstation or mini-computer. This article relates the process of “publishing” the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution's locally-produced “Contributions to the Scientific Literature” database, which includes all staff publications from 1930 to the present. The project involved converting from dBase and Vax formats to MARC using Data Magician software. The final product is made available on the Web as an Endeavor Voyager online catalog.
