SUMMARY
Electronic resources have become a staple feature of mainstream library access. Librarians are employing several methods to provide enhanced access to e-resources for end users and to make maintenance more efficient for staff. This paper shows how the e-resource registry approach can be integrated with existing custom Web-based services in order to extend their functionality to provide enhanced access to e-resources. The paper describes the e-journals relational database that describes resources licensed by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Cham-paign Library and illustrates its interactions with other Web applications developed at the Grainger Engineering Library.
