Working Locally, Thinking Globally in the Beginning of Library Management and Leadership

Abstract

The paper provides an overview of the establishment and management of a special journalism library in Bulgaria thanks to the unique cooperation between Freedom Forum Foundation and American University in Bulgaria. It demonstrates one of the most distinctive characteristics of the AUBG Freedom Forum Journalism Library-the implementation of innovations and new technologies. The library strives to meet the needs of patronsstudents, professors and professional journalists promoting free press and speech in Bulgaria.

Toshka Borisova is AUBG Freedom Forum Journalism Library Coordinator, American University in Bulgaria, Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. She hold as a Master's degree in Bulgarian and Russian language and a Bachelor's degree in Library Science and Bibliography. She has 16 years of library experience and many publications in the Bulgarian specialized press (E-mail: [email protected]).
