Abstract
Citation analysis studies, using dissertations as the bibliographic source material, are often conducted for purposes of collection evaluation, collection management, and serials cancellation. Citations to women's studies journals in dissertations from the years 1989 and 1994 are here analyzed to determine which of these journals are being used for doctoral research and to find out whether their usage has increased, decreased, or remained static. Further study should be conducted to identify reasons for the fluctuation in the usage of particular women's studies journals.
