Abstract

One of the ways in which we influence library users is with the reference books which we select for our collections. For nearly 100 years, the chief tool for assisting us in making these decisions has been the Guide to Reference Books, first edited by Alice B. Kroeger in 1902, and most recently by Robert Balay in 1996. Our study looks at the coverage given to reference books which relate solely to issues of women's studies; in other words, women's issues mainly in the economic and political arenas.
