Implications for Processing and Access

Pages 33-50 | Published online: 26 Oct 2008

Abstract

The establishment of a new Documents Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign combining technical and public services functions is described. Planning, implementation, benefits, and problems encountered are outlined. Automated systems now available and those planned for the UIUC Library permit the new Documents Library to accomplish the processing efficiencies of centralization while still providing the advantages of decentralized access.
